Work and business
A virtual number for freelancers and small business
Client accounts, marketplaces and tools all ask for a phone number. Use one that belongs to the work, not to your personal life.

Key points
- Every platform you use for work asks for a number: marketplaces, invoicing tools, ad accounts, social pages for the business.
- Verification for business messaging accounts, marketplace and payment-platform sign-ins, client portals that text a code, appointment and delivery notifications, and two-factor codes for the tools you rely on.
- Choose a country that suits your clients, pay for the plan, and read incoming texts in the dashboard.
- Payment receipts and invoices are available from your dashboard.
Why freelancers want a separate number
Every platform you use for work asks for a number: marketplaces, invoicing tools, ad accounts, social pages for the business. If they all hold your personal number, it ends up in more databases than you can track, and the calls and texts that follow land on your private phone.
A dedicated work number keeps that traffic in one place. You can look at it when you choose, share access if you hire help, and retire it when a project ends.
What you can put on it
Verification for business messaging accounts, marketplace and payment-platform sign-ins, client portals that text a code, appointment and delivery notifications, and two-factor codes for the tools you rely on. Anything that only needs to send you a text can use it.
It receives SMS only. For client calls, use a calling app or a business phone plan alongside it.
Setting it up
Choose a country that suits your clients, pay for the plan, and read incoming texts in the dashboard. Add the number to each account's security settings, and keep it renewed. A yearly plan is cheaper per month and makes a sensible default for a number that backs your business accounts.
Records and privacy
Payment receipts and invoices are available from your dashboard. The inbox is private to you, and we do not share your data with third parties or the mobile network operator.
How VNumbr works
Choose a country
Pick where the number should be based. The prefix tells apps where you are.
Pay in crypto or wallet
Cryptomus, NOWPayments or your balance. Email-only signup, no ID.
Use it for verification
Enter the number where the app asks and request the SMS code.
Read it in your inbox
Messages appear in your dashboard in real time and through the API.
Common questions
Can my team share the number?
You can share the messages you choose. Each account has its own dashboard login.
Do I get invoices?
Yes, from the dashboard.
Can I use it on client accounts?
Yes, if the client's platform accepts the number type.
Are VNumbr numbers real mobile numbers?
Yes. They are allocated on real mobile carrier networks rather than internet-based VoIP pools. Each app decides for itself which numbers it accepts, so no provider can guarantee a specific result.
How do I pay, and do I need ID?
Pay with cryptocurrency through Cryptomus or NOWPayments, or from a wallet balance. Signup needs only an email address and no identity documents.
What is the difference between a permanent number and an OTP number?
A permanent number is billed monthly or yearly and stays assigned to you for as long as you renew it. An OTP number is billed per activation and receives a single code before it is released.
Only need one code, not a number to keep?
This guide is about VNumbr's permanent numbers. For a single sign-up instead, VNumbr also sells OTP numbers billed per activation.
Get a number you keep
Pick a country, pay in crypto or from your balance, and receive SMS on a permanent line.
